Materials


A4 Colour paper
Ribbon
Glitter
Glue
Decorative plastic
Gems
Scissors

Steps

1) Firstly, apply glue at the top part of an A4 colour paper in landscape orientation.

2) Next, stick a piece of decorative ribbon along the glued side of the paper.

3) Then, fold in and out about 3cm lengthwise from either side of the colour paper.

4) After that, glue the bottom side of the color paper in between the folded parts.

5) Next, press the folded part together and bind decorative ribbons around the bottom part.

6) After that, apply glue somewhere in the middle of the colour paper in between the folds.

7) Next, sprinkle some glitters so that they stick to the glue.

8) Finally, glue gems to the bottom part.

Making lanterns

Making lanterns

Materials


Glass jars
Decorative templates
Removable adhesive paper
Scissors
Glass-frosting spray
Votive candles or tea lights
Heavy wire
Wire cutters
Pliers

Steps

1)Wash the glass jar in hot soapy water and let them air dry.

2)Cut templates out of card board in decorative shapes such as stars, half-moons or hearts.

3)Use the templates to outline the shapes on a non-sticky side of removable adhesive paper, and then cut them out.

4)Stick your designs onto the outside of the jars.

5)Coat the outside of the jars evenly with glass-frosting spray. Let them dry completely, then remove the adhesive paper designs.

6)Put tea lights or votive candles inside each jar.

7)Enjoy the beautiful outdoor lighting your home-made lanterns provide!
